Advanced Implantology Diploma

This course is a continuous education international training programme designed to offer comprehensive training in all aspects of implant dentistry. The course defines a level of competence consistent with an experienced clinician.

The goal of the curriculum is to provide dentists with a scientifically based rationale for all diagnostic, treatment planning and patient care decisions. It delivers advanced evidence-based core knowledge in modern implantology and refines practical skills — including treatment planning, surgical technique, soft tissue management, advanced regenerative technique, and prosthesis planning and execution with both classical and digital workflows.

Emphasis is placed on integrating this training into the ongoing practice of dentistry for each participant, and on the future benefit for their patients. The didactic format includes lectures, laboratory time, video review, literature review and intensive hands-on practice.

Learning Outcomes

  • Plan implant cases using both classical and digital protocols, including guided surgery software
  • Execute flap design, suturing and anatomical dissection with confidence
  • Perform guided bone regeneration — horizontal, vertical and customised
  • Carry out maxillary sinus lift by both crestal and lateral approach
  • Manage soft tissue around teeth and implants, including free gingival and connective tissue grafts
  • Deliver screw-retained, cemented, bar-retained and overdenture prosthetic solutions
  • Recognise, prevent and manage implant complications

What qualification do I receive?

On successful completion of the course and final examination you receive the certificate “Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology” together with a transcript of records legalised by the Italian government, providing 10 ECTS.

How are the 250 credit hours structured?

The 250 credit hours comprise 72 hours of theoretical lessons and hands-on work, 153 hours of individual study, and 25 hours of thesis preparation.

Do I need prior implant experience?

No. The curriculum begins with biological foundations and treatment planning, and builds progressively to advanced regenerative and prosthetic technique. It suits both newcomers to implantology and clinicians wishing to formalise and extend existing skills.

What language is the course taught in?

All teaching, materials and assessment are in English.
